Hello all,
I have just looked at www.fullyfundhpf.org and many of its helps. For at least a quarter century we have realized that the anemic funding for preservation projects compared with more widely understoood natural resource and environmental activities really steals from cities and towns, especially in denser states where municipal costs for infastructure and education are higher.
The campaign to correct this will, if successful, raise the effectiveness and reputation of local preservation, and the timing seems promising. It would be helpful to know if there is coalition building we can do to maximize impact the effect from Massachusetts.
Can a town historical commission or district commission join with a regional or state-wide organization or can we join with the advocates for the Land & Water Conservation Fund here? Or can we track numbers and use that individually?
This points up the fact that there isn't a state-wide as with planning and zoning boards and concomms for example.
