The TV special on Fenway Park was the story of how the structure revived the
spirit of the club and fans. It even sounded like a preservation project by
the architect (a woman as I recall)!

Subject: [MassHistPres] A Sports Section full of preservationists
For anyone who remembers the dire predictions but a dozen years ago for
Fenway Park, the extravagance and hyperbole for its centennial are easy to
forgive. And who knew the Boston Globe's sports pages were replete with
preservationists? Read especially in last Sunday's pull-out section "Fenway
at 100" the pieces by Bob Hohler ("We are Fenway Park") and Dan Shaughnessy
("It's about home"), and Bob Ryan courting his future wife, and remember
them when someone asks why we care about old buildings.
