Springfield has an additional named position, representing our local non-profit preservation group, the Springfield Preservation Trust - so there is precedent to add another named position to a historical commission.

Does anyone know of a historical commission in Massachusetts that requires at least one member to be a builder? I know that many commissions require a realtor and/or an architect.
This question is in response to several suggestions we've received from (Wellesley) Town officials as we advocate for the passage of a demolition review bylaw -- specifically that the Wellesley Historical Commission propose to modify its governing bylaw to require a builder (and a realtor and an architect) to serve on it should a demo review bylaw pass.
Much appreciated,
