Lee, the state law for local historical commissions states that the number of commission members can be 3 to 7.  The exact number of commission members is determined by your city ordinance.  

I would recommend discussing this with your city clerk.  Chris

- Looking for recommendations for an independent grant writer with experience working with history organizations (commissions, societies).

- It seems that our city’s historical commission may be coming back to life.  How do other commissions determine the number of members?
