[MassHistPres] replacement windows

I wanted to jump into the conversation and share with you three resource
documents that you might find helpful.
The first is a bibliography of links to articles which make the case for
repair rather than replacement of historic windows, address the
philosophical, ecological, environmental, reasons as well as present data
on energy efficiency. The second is a list of window repair shops in New
England. The third is a list compiled by Jade Mortimer, of products she
uses in her window repair work. Here is a link to all of the PDF
documents, which can be downloaded and printed:
https://www.preservationmass.org/windows
It is my belief that the more information we have to share with owners of
historic buildings, private individuals and municipalities, the better we
are equipped to counter the arguments presented by the vinyl replacement
window industry.
All my best,
Stacia
