[MassHistPres] Historic Signboard

[Ann J. Chapdelaine]

The North Attleborough Historical Commission has recently found the missing
sign for our Holmes Memorial Hall!  It is an oak board about 12 feet long
and 1 foot wide.  The original finish which is now extremely faded, appears
to have had letters in gold leaf and a background of black gravel material
like coarse sand.  Not sure what  the black material is or is called?
 
Could anyone refer us to someone who restores such signs?
