The TOWN OF DUXBURY issues a REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS 

The Town of Duxbury, by and through the Duxbury Selectboard, is seeking proposals for the purchase, renovation, and ongoing agricultural use of the Isaac Simmons Farm located at 761 Temple Street, Duxbury.

Located on 2.9 acres of pasture, adjacent to an 11 acre pasture owned by the Town and preserved as open space, the 3,400 square foot house was constructed ca. 1790. Responses must be received via email, or at the Office of the Selectboard, Duxbury Town Hall, 878 Tremont Street, Duxbury, Massachusetts 02332 no later than 3:00 PM Tuesday, August 30, 2022.

The minimum offer price for the property is $550,000.00.  As described in the RFP, the Town of Duxbury reserves the right to reject any proposal or to waive any informalities in the Proposal process, if deemed in the Town’s best interest.

The RFP containing the full property description, historical preservation and conservation restriction agreement text, proposal requirements, and evaluation criteria, as well as exterior photographs and a three-dimensional self-guided tour of the house, attached carriage house, and detached barn, is available at https://isaacsimmonshouse.com. https://isaacsimmonshouse.com.

Interested bidders must register with the Administrative Assistant to the Selectboard and Town Manager, Michelle Seda-Stotts, via email at seda-stotts at duxbury-ma.gov mailto:seda-stotts at duxbury-ma.gov .

A bidders walk-through will be held on Monday, August 1 at 10:00 AM.

Questions regarding the property or the RFP must be in writing, and e-mailed to Michelle Seda-Stotts before 3:30PM on Monday August 8.

The Town will provide answers to all registered bidders by 3:30 PM on Monday August 15.
