Realism is very important, which is why I like my games 3-dimensional like Virtua Fighter. Not that I'm a big VF fan, but I love it. I still remember the first day I ever saw it. It looked sorry. We went into the arcade to play D&D (which is still great), and I decided to just try playing it. The polygons interested me. Though they looked really dumb, the motion was fluidic, and the world was not a 2-dimensional one. I played it, and even Mortal Kombat didn't hold a candle to the control that this game had. 3D movement meant the world was ready for a new type of fighter. Street Fighter, eat your heart out. Nothing, and I mean no game, transformed the fighting genre as much as this game. We have one company to thank for this blessed occurence of event, Sega. All hail Tom Kalinske!!! Needless to say, Sega and the Genesis had much to do with my childhood weening. I remember once staying up all night with my friends playing video...
